Under the general direction of the Roadway Engineering Group Manager the Administrative Services Officer 1 directs, manages, and oversees the following core functions of the Roadway Engineering Group. Other duties include:

·         Research, interpret and apply administrative rules; Arizona State statutes; agency policies, procedures and practices

·         Formulate budget proposals, project allocations, develop fiscal activity reports and assess on-going fiscal activities to maintain accounting and fiscal operations

·         Supervise payroll, accounts payable; approving expenditure of funds; analyzing and interpreting expenditure data

·         Support the recruitment, certification, eligibility, and verification process of staffing, interprets and follows agency disciplinary and grievance procedures for the Group.

·         Corroborate and refer administrative personnel investigations to employee relations

·         First line supervisor for the Group support staff

·         Establish direction; set goals and priorities; disseminate work activities; review work accomplishments; record and formulate employee   performance for corrective action disseminated by supervisor

·         Organize, implement and oversee special projects including but not limited to; Strategic Planning; Land Building & Improvement; Capital Improvement; Fixed Assets; Group office facilities maintenance work activities; Awards & Recognition Programs and     Group specific programs

·         Liaison – Group contact for multiple individuals/group/departments including but not limited to: State Engineer’s Office; Accounts Payable; Procurement

·         Budgeting principles & fiscal management

The ideal candidate for this position will have;

Minimum of three years Administrative Assistant III experience or equivalent. Experience utilizing various web-based applications. Familiarity with federal and state policies, procedures and rules.   Experience with automated fiscal/procurement system.

This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License.  Candidates for this position must complete page 5 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR).  The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C.
