JOB SUMMARY

The Arizona Board of Nursing is in search of an experienced Senior System Administrator with knowledge and

hands on experience in Server Administration, Security, LAN / WAN Networking, Desktop Management and Support,

Systems Auditing, Access Control, Identification and Authentication, Configuration Management in a Microsoft

Server Environment.

 

The incumbent will have advanced troubleshooting skills and considerable working knowledge of various infrastructure

technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise and client computing hardware. She/he

will also have demonstrated ability to perform advanced design, maintenance and repairs of servers and expertise

in information system configuration management.

 

Responsibilities include:  

 

Install, configure, maintain and support network operating systems: Windows 2003 / 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012/ 2012R2;

VMWare ESXI Version 6.7. Install, configure, maintain and support various server applications (SQL, IIS, etc.)

Evaluate, plan and install software upgrades and patches. Manage desktop and server hardening and PCI compliant

computers and network.

 

Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network / server and desktop issues using remote network management and

monitoring tools. Monitor network performance and security. Setup, manage and control user access and passwords.

Analyze LAN / WAN networks improvement opportunities, presenting a plan, and successfully implementing the necessary

changes in a service environment.

 

Install, configure, and support desktop operating systems: Windows 10 and MS Office 2013 / 2016, Cisco VPN and

Jabber Client. Configure, implement and support various back-up and antivirus solutions at the desktop and enterprise level.

Image and Install new PC’s and Laptops. Plans and implements moves, additions and changes. Provide Laptop, Desktop

and Printer support for on-site and remote users.

 

Proactively solve complex problems. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.

Conducts daily traffic analysis, identifies and characterizes incidents, generates incident reports and investigates

suspicious network activity. Installs, monitors and directs proactive and reactive computer network defense measures

to ensure the availability, integrity, confidentiality and reliability of systems. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree information technology or MCSE / MCTS / MCITP certification.

 

Five years of hands on experience in systems administration. At the hiring authority’s discretion, additional years of

experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
