JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Section is seeking a Program Project Specialist II. 

 

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:  

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Operations for ESS.
  • Maintain a manner of confidentiality and decision-making judgement.
  • Manage incoming calls and calendar/meeting schedule.
  • Organize travel arrangements.
  • Assist divisional staff on various projects and initiatives daily.
  • Assist in preparation of program-specific reports and inquiries and/or correspondence.
  • Participate in annual program evaluations.
  • Assist in gathering and organizing qualitative data, construction of databases, website editing, and interpretation of data that support the reporting of state performance measures.
  • Research, interpret, and draft policies and procedures for authorizing legislation.
  • Manage communications and timelines for all data collections for ESS which ensures compliance with requirements under the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and public reporting.
  • Assist with out of state travel arrangements for directors and staff.
  • In-state travel is required for this position.

SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):

 

Preference will be given to those applicants with:

  • Knowledge of common rules, laws, and regulations related to the US Department of Education, Arizona Statutes, and State Board of Education.
