Administrative Services oversees all administrative and fiscal functions of the Commission,
including accounting, payroll, procurement, human resources, and general services.

 

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

(ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR)

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You are responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the agency, producing and approving a variety of reports and financial statements for the Administrative Services Director’s and Executive Director’s review and issuance. You will ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements and recommend agency guidelines for continuous improvements to our financial work systems. This includes direct supervision of a small accounting staff, and providing guidance and training to program staff.  You will also make recommendations on budgetary matters to all staff levels, including elected Commissioners.

 

WHAT YOU WILL OFFER

-Extensive knowledge of the federal regulations, Arizona Revised Statutes, State of Arizona Accounting Manual, and finance-related policies and procedures

-Prior experience with automated accounting systems, and the nuances of government accounting (InfoAdvantage/AFIS experience a significant plus)

-Experience working with a variety of funding sources, including federal grants, with the ability to monitor expenditures to ensure funds are spent appropriately

-Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of personnel and other state agencies

-Proficiency in computer software applications, including automated accounting/payroll systems and Microsoft Office, with an ability to produce statistical and forecasting reports

-Effective management and leadership skills, including ability to plan and delegate work, and apply process improvement techniques

-Public speaking skills and ability to present/facilitate meetings and group training

-Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize among a variety of conflicting demands

-Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or closely related field

 

Although not a requirement, preference may be given to applicants with a CPA license, Master’s Degree, and/or prior experience leading a governmental accounting office.

- Anticipated hiring salary $80,000-$85,000, depending upon relevant experience
