JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) AZ Charter School Program (AZCSP) Unit is seeking a Business Services Education Specialist.   

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:   

  • Collaborate with the Director with the project time lines, financial and operational monitoring of sub-recipients, and sort/structure operational data for analysis
  • Train and assist sub-recipients with business and financial operations, policies, and implementation as they relate to federal grants
  • Provide continuous desk and on-site review of operational progress and, if necessary, provide improvement assistance
  • Help ensure that the grant program goals are met, assist with preparation for federal monitoring, ensure project accountability, and sustainability
  • Assist in the production of all federal year-end and final fiscal, performance, and evaluation reports
  • In-state travel required for this position.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Grants management, budgeting, and reporting
  • Non-profit business operations including resource allocation, accounting, and internal controls
  • Uniform system of financial records for Charter Schools (USFRCS)
  • Education Department General Administrative Requirements (EDGAR)
  • Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG)
  • Applicants must have taught or administered a college level Business Management or Public Administration program or administered finance and operations in private business, a school district, or in government
  • A bachelor’s degree is required, (Education or Public Administration preferred)

 SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Communicate effectively
  • Guide and support grant sub-recipients in the development of business operations and financial policy/implementation
  • Monitor sub-recipients for effective implementation of grants management and overall business practice both individually and in a team

  • Position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.  Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).
