 The Department of Economic Security Office (DES) Office of Inspector General is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Investigations Supervisor 1.  The position is responsible overseeing, supervising and coordinating the assessment and monitoring of the Agency’s compliance with Federal and State statues, rules and regulations and Agency’s policy and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-          Knowledge of Federal and States and local statues and Administrative Code

-          Knowledge of interviewing and investigative techniques and procedures

-          Knowledge of practices and methods employed in criminal detection and investigation

-          Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and training

-          Skill in verbal and written communications

-          Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

-          Skill in directing work and holding staff accountable for successful outcomes

-          Skill in mentoring and coaching

-          Skill in supervising, leading and delegating tasks and authority

-          Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy

-          Ability to review, evaluate and make improvements in the deployment of personnel and equipment

-          Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals

Licenses and Certifications:

-          Driving Requirement:  In-state travel is required.  An acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI, suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license.  A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview, if an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months.  Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).  Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed. Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card.

Qualifications:

-          Preferred/ideal candidate will have the following:

-          Knowledge or experience with eligibility policy and procedures for welfare benefit programs is a plus

-          Law enforcement experience or investigative background

-          Bachelor’s degree
