The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Eligibility (DBME) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Field Operations Staff Assistant. This position provides technical and administrative expertise and serves as the Staff Assistant to the Family Assistance Administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-          Knowledge of project management.

-          Knowledge of principles and practices of administration and management.

-          Knowledge of principles and practices of research, planning, and analysis.

-          Knowledge of program-related State and Federal programs and resources.

-          Knowledge of resources to collect, analyze, and interpret data.

-          Knowledge of techniques for developing technical reports.

-          Knowledge of computer applications, especially in the Microsoft Office Suite.

-          Skill in planning, coordinating, analyzing, establishing, implementing, prioritizing, and developing policies and technical reports.

-          Skill in developing effective work plans and methods for improvement.

-          Skill in written and verbal communication, interpersonal relationships, and time management.

-          Skill in interpreting program regulations through development of operating procedure manuals-handbooks-brochures-forms.

-          Skill in developing surveys/analyzing results to assist in development of methods for improvement of program operations.

-          Skill in strong public relations.

-          Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

-          Ability to conduct analytical review of problems, draw logical conclusions and prepare written summation.

-          Ability to review and evaluate program activities analytically and develop effective work plans and methods for improvement.

-          Ability to responsibly, and with flexibility, handle daily demands and changes required to complete project.

-          Ability to analyze existing management and operating procedures and develop methods for improvement of program operations as required.

-          Ability to implement policies and procedures relative to Field Operations.

-          Ability to recommend changes to correct operating deficiencies or to improve the provision of services to the public.

-          Ability to communicate with staff and external customers in an intelligent and positive manner using verbal and written method.

-          Ability to prepare administrative directives.

-          Ability to provide technical assistance and guidance as requested.

-          Ability to model effective and productive work ethic.

Licenses and Certifications:

-          If the position is required to drive on state business, the position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

Qualifications:

-          Four (4) years of administrative experience is preferred.

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
