 The Department of Economic Security Office (DES) Office of Inspector General is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Auditor 3.  The position is responsible for gathering and analyzing support for provider billings; assisting in external audit tracking; providing technical assistance to divisions and conducting other audit and advisory services. The Auditor 3 performs the following types of audits: Post Payment Reviews and Contract Audits: to determine if contractors receive proper payment for services rendered, and evaluate services received to ensure they are in accordance with contracts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-          Knowledge of federal and states laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to program operations or activities

-          Knowledge of auditing principles and standards found in Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards

-          Knowledge of common forms of audit evidence as well as concepts of sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence in support and audit findings

-          Skill in verbal and written communications

-          Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships

-          Skill in Microsoft Office Suite

-          Skill in evaluating problems and making appropriate decisions and critical thinking to solve problems

-          Skill in interpreting information gathered, including data, policies or contracts

-          Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects

-          Ability to work independently

-          Ability to synthesize the results of audits in written reports

Licenses and Certifications:

-          Driving Requirement:  In-state travel is required.  An acceptable driving record for the last 39 months is required including no DUI, suspensions or revocations and less than 8 points on your license.  A copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required at the time of your interview, if an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months.  Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).  Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

Qualifications:

-          Bachelor’s or Master degree in a field emphasizing accounting, financial and business analysis, public policy and data analysis is preferred

-          Certification in relevant discipline, such as auditing (i.e., CPA or CIA), fraud examination (CFE), etc. will be considered
