The Department of Economic Security, Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Monitoring Manager – Group Home. This position is responsible for planning and directing group home monitoring activities, and setting strategic direction for the unit in accordance with Division goals.  This position provides oversight and supervision to statewide program monitors, coordinators, supervisors, and administrative staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-          Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities licensing statutes, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and programmatic requirements

-          Knowledge of standards relevant to community residential settings

-          Knowledge of contract expectations for Division services

-          Knowledge of Personnel practices

-          Knowledge of planning and organizational development

-          Knowledge of staff training techniques

-          Knowledge of record keeping

-          Knowledge of Corrective Action Plans

-          Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation best practices

-          Knowledge of investigative or fact finding techniques

-          Knowledge of systems thinking for process improvement

-          Oral and written communication and documentation practices

-          Computer usage, database entry/extraction of reports, and administration of computer programs

-          Public speaking

-          Complex analysis of large amounts of data

-          Interpreting policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and statutes

Licenses and Certifications:

-          If the position is required to drive on state business, the position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).  Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle; however, mileage will be reimbursed

Qualifications:

-          Three (3) years of responsible administrative experience equivalent to or above the Administrative Assistant 3 level in such a field as personnel, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, data processing, or a related administrative services work; a master’s degree in business or public administration from an accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
