The Department of Economic Security, Division of Development Disabilities is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Attendant. This position is responsible for performing housekeeping tasks in the day/work program areas, Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF), and non-residential buildings at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge (ATPC).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-          Knowledge in proper use and maintenance of various cleaning equipment such as, but not limited to, floor machines and vacuums, carpet cleaners, waxing machines and buffers.

-          Knowledge in types, usage and proper mixing of cleaning chemicals and various cleaning supplies.

-          Knowledge in cleaning procedures, infection control principles, and types of stains.

-          Safety procedures for various tasks and use of equipment.

-          Skill in operating floor machines and vacuums.

-          Skill in time management.

-          Ability to read and write English.

-          Ability to understand and follow spoken and written direction, communicate with staff and report sanitation issues.

-          Ability to learn and perform proper lifting techniques.

-          Ability to learn and follow sanitary and safety standards relating to disease and infection control.

-          Ability to learn and use computer systems (e.g., timesheet entry, computer-based trainings).

-          Be self-motivated.

Licenses and Certifications:

-          Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statue 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.

-          Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.

-          The position is required to drive on state business, the position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.  The Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

-          Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Qualifications:

-          Prefer housekeeping experience.

-          Experience working in close proximity with vulnerable clientele preferred but not required.

-          Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees.

-          Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process, a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
