Job Description

This position supervises PC/LAN resources for ADOT Statewide Hardware Team. Supports IT projects and initiatives.

  • Supervises the staff by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with administrative issues as needed for the Statewide Hardware Team.
  • Trains staff on operational procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plans; receives guidance and oversight from the Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

 

This position supervises PC/LAN resources for ADOT Statewide Hardware Team. Supports IT projects and initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises the staff by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with administrative issues as needed for the Statewide Hardware Team.
  • Trains staff on operational procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plans; receives guidance and oversight from the Manager.

 

Position will travel 20 + weeks a year working 4 ten hour days.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge of

  • Service offerings, customer service principles and processes, back-office server applications, desktop applications, web-based applications, client/server applications, computer/networking hardware, standard operating systems, common third-party software applications, internally developed custom applications, application integrations, networking protocols, and any other computer-related technologies

 

Skills in

  • Strong customer service  
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail

 

Ability to

  • Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations

  • Obtain ACIJIS certification within six months of hire

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in related discipline.

 

Additional years of professional experience might be substituted for education requirement.

 

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

 

ACIJIS Certification within six months of hire.

 

This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License.  Candidates for this position must complete and sign PART 1 and PART 2 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR).  The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.12 (H) and (I).  The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT.  Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR.
