JOB SUMMARY

The System Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and administering ADHS WIC LAN/WAN and will focus on the administration of Technical Services' (WIC group) Windows 2016 servers that support the Active Directory and IIS application server environment.

 

What will I be doing in this job?

-         Administering the full range of systems including Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructure, Windows 2016 servers, Oracle unix system administration and VPN infrastructure

-         Performing system analysis, designing, constructing and testing infrastructure

-         Providing input for short term and long term recommendations for LAN hardware and software

-         Providing guidance, assistance, training and education

-         Developing and keeping current network and architecture diagrams & documentation

-         Serving as a technical resource for desktop support specialists and other LAN administrators

-         Reviewing configuration change proposals for compliance to established standards, guidelines and policies

What does this job require?

-         Microsoft systems; HP, IBM, and Sun Microsystems compatible hardware function requirements and operations

-         LAN/WAN communications Including modems, switches, firewall/proxy systems, and routers

-         VPN/Remote Access administration, LAN administration and systems support including utilizing imaging technologies for PC configurations

-         Microsoft 2016 Server operating systems and system configuration, optimization, and design including Active Directory design and maintenance

-         Unix system fundamentals

-         Demonstrated experience operating a large and complex server system

-         Cisco ASA Firewall technologies

-         Strong customer service skills

-         Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

-         Expert troubleshooting skills

-         Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

-         Work collaboratively in teams and acl'08s organizations

-         Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly

-         Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization

-         Develop and write technical documentation

-         Evaluate and test emerging technologies

-         Install and repair PC hardware and software

-         Perform advanced design, maintenance and repair of servers

-         Have expertise in information system configuration management

Qualifications?

The ideal candidate will have:

-         Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of extensive experience in systems engineering; administering and maintaining computer network systems (or equivalent experience)

 

Licenses and Certifications?

Driving is required for State Business.

-          Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.  Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).
