JOB SUMMARY:

The Division of Fee for Service Management (DFSM) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an   Integrated Services Specialist . This position is responsible for working with the Tribal Regional Behavioral Health Authorities (TRBHAs) for their administration of care management functions. It serves as a subject matter expert on the TRBHA Intergovernmental Agreements is actively involved in the overall monitoring of TRBHA deliverables, and providing technical assistance and training to the TRBHAs to ensure services rendered to members meet standards of care, rules, and policies. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Utilize a sound knowledge and understanding of the TRBHA Intergovernmental Agreements in order to provide technical assistance and training to TRBHAs. Use independent decision making skills to identify, analyze and resolve problems with TRBHAs and to determine when to elevate the issue.

 

Provide monitoring and oversight related to TRBHAs, including, but not limited to, operational reviews and deliverable efforts.

 

Participate in the outreach, on-boarding, and training efforts of IHS/638 facilities as it relates to the American Indian Medical Home program.

 

Participate in the drafting and revising of AHCCCS policies and procedures as they relate to behavioral health and the TRBHAs.   

 

Responsible for planning and organizing meetings, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up, and preparing various reports.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

• Understanding of Behavioral Healthcare Delivery System.

 

Ability to assess variables which impact health and functioning, and to read, interpret and apply complex rules and regulations.

 

Interpersonal skills in working and communicating with management, providers, & individuals from diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 

Knowledge of governmental agencies, and federal rules/regulations.

• Proficiency in communication, verbal and written, with FFS Providers, other agencies, and clinical staff.

 

Principles of utilization review and quality management.

 

Skills to determine what issues need to be elevated, and how to formulate recommended action.

 

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

The ideal candidate will have one or more years’ experience working with tribal facilities and the various health care delivery systems in which tribal members may receive services, as well as three to five years’ experience in the behavioral health field, or an advanced degree in social work, public health, healthcare, or related fields.
