JOB SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for supporting the field by conducting high profile investigations.

 

JOB DUTIES: 

-          The position will support the field by conducting high profile investigations: Foster Home, employee and reports that  present a conflict of interest to unit or where there are vacancies in investigation units

-          Represents the Department by attending community meetings

-          Performs in-service community and training in DCS policy and procedures

-          Participates and attends sectional management meetings, serves in special work groups, often representing the section

-          Coordinates section staff work in redacting files and assists staff in completing requests for clients services

-          Responds to unit section and agency needs

-          Evaluates and interprets data and information from a variety of sources to assess and direct section staff to accomplish the agency's goals for safety, permanency and well-being of children

-          Supports DCS Program Supervisor's work by completing case review guides, this includes reviewing of cases and moving into and out of the section within 72 hours of assignment

-          Assists and/or completes SPUFI corrections in coordination with section staff

-          Arranges, coordinates, conducts and/or schedules staff training and development opportunities

-          Oral and written communications

-          Assessing risk, safety planning, and case planning with the goal of providing protection and safety, preserving families and promoting timely permanency

-          Negotiation, collaboration and conflict management

-          Understanding of agency policies, laws, and best practice principles in child welfare

-          Strengths-based, solution-focused and family-centered practice

 

 

Ability to:

-          Interpret and apply agency policies, procedures, rules and regulations

-          Establish and maintain effective working relations with individuals, groups, and representatives of other organizations

-          Explain to participants, decision making tools, agency policies, laws, court process, etc.

-          Model professional interactions, provide leadership and guidance, and share constructive feedback to ensure continual quality improvement

 

SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S): 

-          In-state travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)

-          Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed

-          For valid Arizona Driver's License holder; a copy of your three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report will be required

QUALIFICATION(S):

-          Master's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of DCS Specialist/OCWI Investigator experience

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

-          Applicants for this position shall be subject to a search of the DCS Central Registry

-          Applicants for this position will be required to apply for and show proof of receipt of a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card that meets DCS requirements for a Level One card

-          All newly hired employees are subject to the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program
