Job Summary: It is the responsibility of this position to coordinate the PASRR Program (Pre-Admission Screening Resident Review) which includes performing the PASRR assessments, processing the PASRR referrals and evaluations, direct and monitor the program's compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, maintain PASRR database, develop statistical reports, maintain client referral and evaluation records. In addition, this position requires assessment of intellectually disabled individuals for appropriate level of care and assessment of Assisted Living Facilities ensuring compliance with Division requirements, maintenance of assessments and development of reports.


Job Duties:

·    Plan, implement and coordinate day-to-day operations of the PASRR Program to ensure appropriate placement of DD individuals and recommending the appropriate level of care. Interpret PASRR rules and regulations. Statewide travel to complete on-site evaluations.

·      Coordinate and monitor the processing of PASRR and Assisted Living referrals and evaluations.

·      Coordinate the scheduling of consumer assessments to determine appropriateness of Assisted Living level of care. Statewide travel for consumer assessments arid assessment of assisted living facilities.

·      Monitor the PASRR Program to assure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

·      Enter data into and monitor PASRR database to track consumers. Maintain consumer referral and evaluation records for PASRR and Assisted Living consumers. Documentation and medical record keeping for PASRR and Assisted Living consumers. Prepare PASRR statistical reports.

·      Develop and implement PASRR policy and procedures, standards/guidelines.

·      Interprets policies and procedures


Selective Preference:

·     Current Nurse License in the State of Arizona (RN) or Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW). Experience with PASRR Program.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Qualifications/Requirements:

·     Knowledge in procedures, guidelines and policy writing. Evaluation and assessment. Case Management. PASRR federal and state laws and regulations. Program planning and designing. Local, state, and federal program resources. Statewide hospitals and nursing facilities. Medical and psychiatric terminology. PASRR, Division and Department policy procedures. Record maintenance and report development methodology.

·     Skill in coordinating program and problem solving. Program planning, development and monitoring. Written and oral communication. Listening, interviewing, gathering and assessing medical documentation/information to compile Into a comprehensive evaluation. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Organizational and prioritization skills.

·     Ability in effectively communicate to extract pertinent information. Interact with difficult Individuals and situations. Work effectively with little supervision Assess needs and make determinations. Make independent decisions regarding appropriate placement/level of care and If sialized services are required. Solve problems. Self-starter. Review, evaluate, plan and coordinate PASRR program activities. Evaluate effectiveness of PASRR program and resolve identified problems. Ensure the PASRR program is functioning and in full compliance with all regulations while being away from the office performing evaluations for PASRR and Assisted Living placements.


Licenses / Certifications:

·     In-state travel is required. This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
