Program Management Processing Specialist

 Exceptional Student Services Section

Phoenix Location

Salary Range: $56,000 - $62,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Performs initial and programmatic review of grant applications and completion reports to ensure accuracy and appropriateness for all Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) applications for preschool students with disabilities and K-12.
  • Communicates with Grants Management to ensure timely programmatic review of funding applications, completion reports, and assist in the maintenance of effort processing when needed.
  • Work with Public Education Agencies (PEAs) regarding grant application, maintenance of effort, and completion report rejections with detailed explanations.
  • Processes high-cost child claims for preschool students with disabilities and K-12   reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), submitted documentation, and follow-ups with PEAs appropriately.
  • Provides training internally and externally on all IDEA Program Management items for ESS.
  • Ensure that public, state, and federal reporting are pulled timely and accurately regarding allocations, maintenance of effort, expenditures, and other items.
  • Works with Grants Management, other units, and Information Technology (IT) to review processes and software implementation to ensure that systems are working accurately, timely, and meeting requirements.
  • In-state travel is required for this position.
