- Review and follow-up findings related to single audits as well as other auditing information submitted by subgrantees
- Process audit evaluations in accordance with the ADE policies
- Review and follow-up on corrective actions to ensure complete resolution of all Single Audit findings
- Performing fiscal audits
- Draft correspondence to local education agencies (LEAs)
- Prepare monitoring documents and reports
- Confirm compliance with applicable grant, federal, and state regulations and requirements
- Perform other duties as necessary to complete fiscal audits
- In-state travel is required for this position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Please note: For those selected for interviews, skills assessments may be administered as part of the interview process. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Principles and practices of auditing and accounting
- Federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to public programs
- Written and oral communication techniques
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, auditing, or a related field and/or equivalent job-related experience
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Interpreting statutes, rules, policies, and procedures
- Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer

- Computer skills to properly obtain and analyze audit work

SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR(S):
- Preference will be given to those applicants with:
- Progressively more responsible accounting and/or auditing or similar work experience
- A combination of formal education and work experience
- Prior knowledge of federal or state grants management processes
