Job Summary:  The Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Case Manager Unit Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising staff that serves individuals with developmental disabilities (DD) and mental Illness (MI) by supporting them and their families to lead the healthiest, most self-sufficient, productive lives within their capabilities. 


Job Duties:

·        Supervises and directs work activities of subordinate staff; provides necessary training; provides technical advice and assistance to staff regarding development, implementation, or monitoring of member Individual Support Plans (ISP); completes performance evaluations.

·        Reviews cases assigned to work unit; assesses needs and assigns case to staff members; reviews Individual Support Plan developed by Support Coordinator to ensure member needs are met; ensures assignment area completed within established timeliness in compliance with quality standards.

·        Attends and facilitates meetings, including but not limited to staff meetings, district supervisory meetings, meetings with representatives of other governmental and community organizations, and district and statewide workgroups.

·        Meets with subordinate staff to assist with identifying necessary changes and modifications to Individual Support Plans.

·        Other duties as assigned, as related to the position


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Qualifications/Requirements:

·        Knowledge in 1) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), 2) Community resources, medical and behavioral health issues and terminology, 3) Principles and practices of case management, methodology, procedures and techniques in development of Individual or Family Support Plans, Individual Service Plans, or Person Centered Plans for people with developmental disabilities

·        Skilled in 1) Counseling (as used in providing advice and assistance) and interacting with members and family members, 2) Problem identification, resolution and workload management, 3) Team building and leadership skills

·        Ability to 1) Analyze issues and develop positive solutions, 2) Supervise a unit of professional staff, 3) Work independently and within diverse work teams

·        As required by AHCCCS Contract No. YH6-0014, a Case Manager Supervisor must be an Arizona licensed registered nurse in good standing OR possess a degree in social work with a minimum of three (3) years case management experience OR possess a bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or counseling, with a minimum of three (3) years’ of case management experience and three (3) years of management experience.

·        Arizona Level 1 Clearance Card is required

·        In-state travel is required

·        Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459

·        Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions
