The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Nursing Manager. This position is responsible for:

·        Developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating a system that provides for community nursing support to developmentally disabled members; assisting in development of policy and procedure of program; assuming regional nursing responsibility for District

·        Assigning caseloads; monitoring work activities, nursing assessments, skilled nursing hours; conducting meetings, and providing assistance in resolving conflicts; responsible for recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation of work performance of employees; conducting training seminars and Statewide Nurse meetings

·        Providing health education to staff and telephone triage or on-site in the community for acute problems; responsible for team building and coordination of work between Support Coordinators, Nurses, and other community partners

·        Providing medical assistance and attending District meetings as needed

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

·        Knowledge in developmentally disabled nursing theory and practice

·        Knowledge in community health care service and resources

·        Knowledge in Department of Economic Security, Developmental Disabilities policies, AHCCCS rules, health plan regulations, 42-Code of Federal Regulations and Arizona Revised Statutes

·        Knowledge in all aspects of health care management

·        Skilled in primary skills acquired during formal nursing education

·        Skilled in management, supervision, and teaching

·        Skilled in oral and written communication

·        Skilled in group facilitation and team building

·        Skilled in conflict resolution

·        Ability to be assertive and accountable for own actions

·        Ability to self-managed and organized

·        Ability to responsive

·        Ability to proactive and solution-oriented

 

Qualifications:

·        Candidate will have experience in using database systems to track, trend, and provide analysis of data, and must abide by nursing regulations

 

Licenses and Certifications:

·        Candidate is required at time of appointment: possession of current license or temporary permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona; within six (6) months from date of hire, candidate must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona

·        Arizona Level 1 Clearance Card

·        Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804

·        Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

·        Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

·        The position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Individuals may be required to use their personal motor vehicle.
