JOB SUMMARY & DUTIES |
||
The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is committed to providing the youth under our care and supervision with effective, efficient, and high quality rehabilitative and transformative services in support of our vision, mission, and values. Four days a week/Ten hours a day 5% shift differential for evenings 10% shift differential for nights (3rd Shift) We are seeking a Correctional Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to youth in a correctional setting. Under the supervision of the Correctional Registered Nurse Supervisor II (or designee), responsibilities include: Duties include: · Provides and responds to emergency care to youth and staff · Conducts intake evaluations of new youth commitments and parole violators · Counsels and instructs juveniles regarding health concerns · Performs medical/physical evaluations · Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in youth’s condition · Obtains and processes blood, urine and other specimens · Consults and coordinates with health care team members · Records medical information and vital signs · Maintains files and records · Maintains medical supplies, equipment and packaged instruments · Provides sound guidance to new employees · Administers and reads yearly tuberculosis (TB) skin tests · Assists Health Providers · Performs/administers First Aid and CPR to youth, staff and visitors · Report all industrial injuries within required time frame · Performs related work as required |
