OFFICE OF THE ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERAL
|
The Arizona Attorney General’s Office State Government Division, Liability Management Section is seeking a Legal Secretary II to provide secretarial support to attorneys of the State Government Division, Liability Management Section. This Section represents the State in Risk Management covered lawsuits alleging liability for personal injuries, property damage and constitutional law violations. The responsibilities for these positions include timely and accurate preparation of a wide variety of legal correspondence, petitions, briefs, pleadings, motions and memoranda; accurate and timely maintenance of legal records/files and case management system; appropriate handling of a wide variety of calls, correspondence and visitors. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of docketing, calendaring, filing and appropriate administrative support.

REQUIREMENTS
|
· A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required, along with giving consent to have your driving record run periodically. Travel is required for this position. |
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
|
Knowledge needed:
·
Knowledge of the Federal and State Rules of Civil Procedure.
·
Knowledge of technical legal terms and various legal forms and documents.
·
Knowledge of the sequence of legal actions sufficient to answer a variety of detailed inquiries.
·
Knowledge of legal notices and forms sufficient to complete them from marginal notes, standard paragraphs, verbal/written instructions, and/or similar forms.
Skills needed:
·
Skill in the operation of keyboard equipment and a personal computer;
·
Skill in transcribing machine dictation.
Abilities needed:
·
Ability to compose relatively simple correspondence;.
·
Ability to handle detailed work accuracy and speed;
·
Ability to monitor legal requirements and deadlines;.
·
Ability to prioritize workload to include timely filing and file organization;
·
Ability to respond to inquiries with tact, diplomacy, and appropriate timely information;
·
Ability to get along and work well with others.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
|
·
Ideal Candidates will be a qualified Legal Secretary with civil litigation experience.
