 Job Summary

 TheArizona Department of Revenue is currently seeking a motivated, innovative andsolutions driven individual to work as our new Programmer Analyst. Thisposition is part of the Oracle support team currently supporting the Tax AdministrationSystem (TAS) developed in PLSQL and Oracle Forms. This position is alsoresponsible for analyzing, debugging and resolving defects in TAS, performingtasks related to scheduled processes (daily, weekly, monthly, annual). Qualifiedcandidates should be proficient in SQL/PLSQL with some experience in OracleForms, have the proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot and provide documentedsolutions to resolve issues.


 Job Duties

Essentialduties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·       Analyzes, debugs and resolves defects in applications,performs tasks associated to scheduled processes.

·       Supports production systems, analyzes and resolvesproduction problems in a timely manner, resolves end user service requests asassigned. 

·       Develops new applications to meet functional and technicaldesigns.

·       Prepares technical documentation on applicationspecifications.

·       Engages with business analysts and stakeholders tounderstand functional requirements and contributes to completion of functionalspecifications.

·       Creates deliverables according to the Software DevelopmentLifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use ceases, testcases and system documentation.

·       Analyzes and resolves development issues in a timely manner.

·       Fixes and develops changes to applications to meetfunctional and technical designs following best practices and developmentstandards and guidelines.


 Pre-Employment Requirements

Candidatesfor this position will be required to submit Tax Filing Records, EmploymentVerification Check and Fingerprints that will be used to check criminal historyrecords from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the FederalBureau of Investigations (FBI) prior to a contingent job offer.


 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of

·       Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, PLSQL, Oracle Database Objects

·       Considerable working knowledge of multiple programminglanguages, database management systems and multiple development platforms.

·       Release and configuration management.

·       Technologies and underlying principles.

·       Fundamentals of objects oriented and service software designprincipals.



·       Strong customer service.

·       Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication.

·       Analyzing highly complex client requests and designing anddeveloping highly complex n-tier solutions object oriented, and orclient/server solutions.

·       Performing complex problem analysis and identifyingsolutions.

·       Understanding the creation of database objects (i.e.,tables, columns, indices, stored procedures, relationships, and views).



·       Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

·       Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.

·       Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.

·       Build strong relationships inside and outside theorganization.

·       Research and analyze information

 Selective Preferences

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

·       Bachelor's degree plus 4 or more years forprogramming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).

·       Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEANis preferred.
